Mahogany - Organic Hair Color
Mahogany
Colour Me Organic Premium
Certified Organic Hair Color 3.5oz
A warm reddish-brown from six organic herbs — and one of three shades we make where henna comes first on the ingredient list.
Day one will look wrong. After a green cast at the rinse, this shade goes warm and orange for a day before the brown depth arrives. It settles into mahogany over days two and three. Don't judge it on the first evening.

Real natural hair color begins with truly organic ingredients.
And when we say organic, we mean 100% certified organic herbs—not 99%, not 99.9%, but fully certified organic botanical color.
Colour Me Organic Premium is the premium U.S. edition of our 100% organic hair color line, designed for a more protected herbal coloring experience.
Each shade is vacuum-sealed to help protect the herbs from oxidation, designed for a 5-year shelf life, and shipped more frequently by air from our production facility in India so newer product can reach you more reliably.
Experience the richness of Mahogany and let your hair shine with genuine, pure, botanical color.
Embrace the Warm Elegance of Natural Mahogany
Mahogany is a deep, reddish-brown shade inspired by the richness of polished wood. This versatile color blends warm red and brown tones to create a vibrant yet refined finish.
Unlike cooler red-violet shades, Mahogany offers a warmer red-orange reflection that appears brighter and more dimensional. It enhances your natural beauty without being overly dramatic, making it ideal for those who want a noticeable yet sophisticated transformation.
This timeless hue adds depth and warmth to your hair, complementing both cool and warm skin tones throughout every season.
How Is Mahogany Different from Burgundy?
Though both shades feature red undertones, they differ subtly in tone and intensity:
Mahogany is perfect for those seeking warmth and vibrancy, while Burgundy offers cooler depth and drama.

Mahogany or Auburn Red?
These two share the same six herbs in the same order on the label — henna first, indigo second, amla third. The difference is in the proportions, which we don't publish — held by one person at our production facility in India.
Mahogany carries more brown depth; Auburn Red runs more copper. If you want the redder of the two, Auburn Red →

What kind of colour this is
Conventional dye lifts your own pigment out and puts synthetic pigment in its place — and a reddish-brown needs lifting first if your hair is darker than the target. This one doesn't lift anything. Lawsone bonds to keratin in the outer layers, so the cuticle stays shut and there is no damage to repair afterwards.
The trade is straightforward: it costs you the option of going lighter, and saves you everything that comes with it.
- Powder-based organic colour for men and women
- Certified organic by ECOCERT
- No peroxide, ammonia, PPD, parabens or synthetic pigment
-
Contains indigo — there is a green cast at the first rinse, and it clears within a day
- Colours grey most vividly of all; on darker hair it reads as depth rather than a colour change
- At-home application, no developer to mix
- Not suitable for anyone with a known indigo or plant-dye allergy — patch test first
What to expect over three days
-
Right after rinsing — a green cast over the warmth. That's the indigo before it has met the air. Temporary.
-
First 12 to 24 hours — the green clears and the henna comes forward, reading warmer and more orange than the finish.
-
Days two and three — settles into mahogany as the indigo finishes. Judge your colour here.
Do not blow-dry. Not while the paste is on, and not for the first 24 hours after rinsing. Dry the paste and nothing transfers; dry the hair afterwards and the colour stalls partway. Shower cap while it processes, air-dry after.
