Men's Darkest Ash Blonde - Organic Hair Coloring

Darkest Ash Blonde — Men's Hair Colouring. Colour Me Organic Premium, certified organic herbal hair colour, 3.5 oz (100 g). The same herbs as our women's Darkest Ash Blonde, in slightly different proportions. No PPD, no ammonia, no peroxide.

What to expect

A cool, matte ash with no henna in it, so no warm red underneath. It shows on light or grey hair; on mid or dark brown hair, expect very little.

Plant colour adds pigment and never lifts it. Grey takes the colour first, and reads a little lighter and warmer than the rest of your hair at the start. It blends further with each application — most people see grey fully blended by the second or third round.

How to use it

1. Start with clean hair, free of conditioner, oil or styling product. Dry hair is best; towel-dried damp hair also works.
2. Mix the powder with warm water into a smooth, yogurt-like paste. Do not add vinegar or lemon juice.
3. Apply evenly, grey areas first. Cover with the shower cap and leave on for more than 2 hours (there is no need to go to 3 hours).
4. Rinse with water only. Indigo is the only colouring herb here, and it is the slowest we work with. Expect a blue-green cast at the first rinse.
5. Air-dry. No blow-dryer or heat for the first 24 hours — drying fast stops the colour partway.
6. Wash with plain warm water as often as you like; the moisture helps the colour develop. Wait 72 hours before using shampoo or any cleanser with detergents, and judge the colour on day three.

How much to use

• 1.1 oz (one-third) — short hair
• 2.2 oz (one-half) — medium-length hair
• 3.5 oz — longer or fuller coverage

The herbs are milled together, so any part of the pouch is the same colour as the whole. The pouch reseals.

Before you use it

• Patch test on the inner forearm 48 hours before a full application. If it itches or reddens, wash it off and do not use it.
